Friday, November 7: Apple has officially restored full functionality to its streaming and entertainment platforms — Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and Apple Music — following a major global outage that occurred between November 6 and 7. The company’s System Status page now shows all services marked as available, confirming the issue has been resolved.

The disruption began around 9:00 PM ET on Thursday, affecting tens of thousands of users globally. Subscribers to Apple TV+ faced widespread streaming errors during the highly anticipated premiere of “Pluribus,” a new sci-fi series created by Vince Gilligan and starring Rhea Seehorn.

According to Downdetector, over 11,700 outage reports were logged within hours, as viewers across the United States and international markets reported buffering screens and access failures. Apple’s internal system status also showed a breakdown in video delivery services, impacting playback across multiple devices.

The outage, which lasted roughly 12 to 18 hours, was one of Apple’s most significant streaming disruptions in recent months. While the company has not disclosed the cause, technical experts suggest server overload during the simultaneous global launch of “Pluribus” may have triggered the failure.

As of Friday morning, Apple confirmed that all affected services are back online, including Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple Music, and related content delivery systems.

The incident has reignited discussions about infrastructure resilience and load-handling capacity during peak streaming events, especially as tech giants increasingly rely on exclusive premieres to drive subscriptions.

“Pluribus” — described by Gilligan as the story of “the world’s most miserable person trying to save the planet from happiness” — is now available for streaming on Apple TV+.

The recovery marks a relief for users frustrated by the downtime, as Apple’s global ecosystem of entertainment and media services returns to normal operation.
