Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings to eliminate them from IPL 2020. With this defeat CSK became the first team to be eliminated from IPL 2020.
MI won the toss and asked CSK to bat first in Sharjah in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. With a do or die game for CSK, things didn’t go well at all as CSK were struggling at 25-5.
All-rounder Sam Curran (52) was the lone fighter as they finished for 114 at the end of 20 overs. Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers as his figures 4-1-18-4.

In reply, MI never looked uncomfortable as they chased down the total in 12.2 overs. Opener De Kock (46) and Ishan Kishan (68) chased down the target and eliminated CSK from IPL 2020.

This win leaves MI at the top of the table with an all but confirmed place in the playoffs.
