On the eve of what could be a historic day for Indian women’s cricket, fans have erupted in anger after the Women’s World Cup final tickets — which never officially went live — suddenly appeared as “event closed/sold out” on BookMyShow.
For days, the final listing showed “Coming Soon”, leaving supporters waiting anxiously. Now, without any public sale window, the status flipped — sparking outrage and allegations of mismanagement.
Fans took to social media, calling it a disgraceful moment for Indian cricket administration:
“Tomorrow our women’s team could create history — yet the ticket window never opened.”
“From ‘Coming Soon’ to ‘Event Closed’ in true BCCI style.”
“When they reach the final, you shut the tickets. Otherwise, you sell them dirt cheap.”
“Fans stood by from day one, but when history is about to be made — you shut the gates.”

@bookmyshow the way the ticket sale for Women’s cricket world cup final is being handled is pathetic. No commoner would be able to book tickets. Great going 🫡 #ICCWomensWorldCup2025

Netizens slammed both BCCI and BookMyShow, accusing them of poor planning and lack of transparency. Many expressed frustration that genuine cricket fans lost their chance to witness the final at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, despite refreshing the ticket page for hours.
BookMyShow had earlier told a user:
“Stay tuned to our socials, app and website. The details shall reflect in real-time as soon as bookings go live.”
However, fans say the window never truly opened — only to be quietly marked closed.
With India eyeing their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup trophy, supporters are calling this a missed opportunity to honour the sport and its followers.
