Former US President Donald Trump claimed that his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping resulted in major trade and security commitments, including renewed Chinese purchases of American agricultural goods and energy, and cooperation to curb fentanyl trafficking. Trump made the remarks in a Truth Social post as he wrapped up his Asia visit.
Trump said China agreed to buy “massive amounts” of US soybeans, sorghum and other farm products, urging American farmers to “buy more land and larger tractors.” He also asserted Beijing would continue supplying critical minerals and rare earths “openly and freely.”
On national security, Trump said Xi had “strongly stated” China would work closely with Washington to stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States, calling it a significant step in addressing the drug crisis.
Trump further noted that China would begin purchasing US energy, mentioning that negotiations may follow regarding large-scale oil and gas purchases from Alaska.
The post also thanked multiple Indo-Pacific nations for hosting him and claimed the US is “strong, respected, and admired again,” adding that “hundreds of billions of dollars” were flowing into the country as a result of diplomatic efforts.
Neither Beijing nor US government officials immediately commented on the claims.
