Coforge Limited, a leading global IT solutions and services company, has taken a major step in promoting research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science by inaugurating the Coforge Data & AI Lab at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. The initiative has been launched under a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Coforge and IIT (BHU), marking a key milestone in Coforge’s CSR efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia and the technology industry.
The newly established lab is located in the I-DAPT building on the IIT (BHU) campus and spans 980 square feet. Designed to inspire innovation and hands-on learning, the facility is equipped with 32 high-end Apple desktops, Azure cloud access, advanced video conferencing tools, and curated learning content through Percipio. This setup provides students and researchers with direct access to a live, enterprise-grade environment where they can experiment, build, and apply their AI and data science knowledge to real-world scenarios. The initiative is further enhanced by structured mentorship and guidance from Coforge’s team of Data and AI professionals.
The vision behind the Coforge Data & AI Lab is to create an inclusive, innovation-driven ecosystem that enables young talent to apply technology to solve real-world challenges. The lab will initially support key research projects focused on cybersecurity, assistive technology for the visually impaired, sustainable agriculture through IoT and AI-based soil health monitoring, and cognitive research to enhance mathematical learning among schoolchildren in Varanasi using brainwave-based interventions.
