A moment of brilliance turned into concern during the third ODI between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) as Shreyas Iyer walked off the field after taking a stunning catch to dismiss Alex Carey.

The incident occurred in the 27th over, when Harshit Rana bowled a short-of-length delivery outside off at 134.1 kmph. Carey, attempting to cut, ended up slicing the ball high into the air. Iyer, stationed at backward point, turned and sprinted backward, timing his leap perfectly to grab a brilliant over-the-shoulder catch.

However, Iyer landed awkwardly on his left hip, immediately wincing in pain. The Indian physio rushed in for treatment as his teammates surrounded him in concern. After a brief on-field assessment, Iyer was seen walking off the field slowly, assisted by medical staff.

The catch brought much-needed relief for India, as the partnership between Carey and Renshaw was starting to frustrate the visitors. Following the dismissal, drinks were called on the field, allowing India a chance to regroup after breaking the stand.

At the latest update, Shreyas Iyer has left the field for further evaluation, and the BCCI medical team is monitoring his condition closely. His immediate participation in the remainder of the match remains uncertain, though fans and teammates alike will be hoping for a swift recovery.
