Australia opener Travis Head added another feather to his cap during the third ODI against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), becoming the fourth fastest batter in the world to reach 3,000 ODI runs (by balls faced).

Head achieved the milestone in 2,839 balls, overtaking Jonny Bairstow (2,842 balls) to claim the spot. The Australian southpaw now joins an elite list that features some of the most explosive one-day batters of the modern era.

Head, who also became the fastest Australian to 3,000 ODI runs (76 innings) earlier in the match, reached the milestone during his brisk innings against India’s pace attack, led by Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna.
