In the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode, host Salman Khan took contestant Baseer to task over a controversial remark he made towards fellow housemate Malti. The comment, “Agra ki jhopadpati se aaye ho,” sparked outrage, prompting Salman to directly confront Baseer during the episode.
Salman questioned Baseer on the intent behind his words, asking, “What did you mean by that comment?” In response, Baseer attempted to clarify his stance, saying, “Jo words unhone use kiye hai… pageant karke aaye hai, she should be uplifting other women.” He went on to explain that the issue was never about clothing, stating, “The issue was not even related to clothes, but was about something related to food, but kahi se unhone utha kar… kapdo pe, bodyshaming tareeke se.. bohot galat kiya.”
Baseer emphasized that Malti’s comments directed at Nehal were “degrading,” referencing a previous argument where Malti told Nehal, “pehle kapde pehen kar baat kar,” a statement widely interpreted as body-shaming.
At this point, Pranit interjected, confronting Baseer on his own conduct: “Tune bhi jo bola degrading hi tha.”
Salman concluded the discussion by reminding the housemates that such personal and derogatory remarks have no place in the house. He expressed concern over the nature of the exchanges and urged everyone to maintain respect in their interactions moving forward.
The episode highlighted the importance of accountability and respectful discourse inside the house, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like body image and socio-economic backgrounds.
