Chelsea have been hit with yet another injury setback, as defender Benoît Badiashile has been ruled out until December after suffering a muscle injury. The French centre-back, who has featured prominently under Enzo Maresca this season, is expected to miss several key fixtures as he begins his recovery.
Badiashile’s absence adds to Chelsea’s growing list of fitness concerns, with manager Enzo Maresca confirming that Pedro Neto, Moisés Caicedo, and Enzo Fernández are all doubts for the Blues’ upcoming Premier League fixture this weekend. The trio have been struggling with minor physical issues and are being closely monitored by the medical staff.
“It’s not good news with Benoît — he’ll be out until December with a muscle injury,” Maresca said in his pre-match press conference. “Pedro, Moisés, and Enzo are all doubts at the moment. We’ll have to assess them in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
The timing couldn’t be worse for Chelsea, who have shown signs of progress under Maresca but continue to struggle with squad consistency due to recurring injuries. Badiashile’s defensive presence and composure on the ball have been vital to Chelsea’s build-up play, and his absence could force Maresca to reshuffle his backline once again.
