Bharat Forge Ltd has deepened its collaboration with Rolls-Royce through a new agreement to manufacture and supply fan blades for the Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines. The deal marks a major milestone in Rolls-Royce’s strategy to strengthen local manufacturing partnerships and enhance its supply chain footprint in India.

The contract was signed at Rolls-Royce’s Dahlewitz facility near Berlin, underscoring Bharat Forge’s growing global reputation as a trusted supplier of precision aerospace components. The partnership also supports Rolls-Royce’s broader commitment to double its sourcing from India by 2030, reflecting the increasing importance of Indian manufacturing in global aerospace supply chains.

Rolls-Royce and Bharat Forge first began working together in 2020, with Bharat Forge supplying parts for the Pearl 700 programme. Since then, the Indian engineering giant has delivered consistent quality and reliability, even achieving its first zero-defect fan blade in 2024.

With this latest agreement, Bharat Forge will now support the Pearl 10X engine — the newest and most powerful member of Rolls-Royce’s market-leading Pearl family. The Pearl 10X features the advanced Advance2 engine core, recognized as the most efficient core in the business aviation sector, and delivers over 18,000 pounds of thrust, powering some of the largest and longest-range business jets in the world.

Rolls-Royce has a long-standing presence in India, spanning over 90 years, and remains a key partner to the Indian defence sector. More than 1,400 Rolls-Royce engines currently power various platforms of the Indian Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Army. The company also employs over 4,000 people across its Indian ecosystem, including around 2,800 engineers contributing to global development programmes.

Bharat Forge’s expanded role highlights its emergence as a leader in precision aerospace manufacturing. The company is the first and only Indian manufacturer to produce such advanced fan blade components for Rolls-Royce’s Pearl engine family — a clear testament to its engineering excellence and investment in cutting-edge technology.

Looking ahead, Bharat Forge aims to strengthen its position as a strategic partner for global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers by expanding its focus on high-precision manufacturing, innovation, and sustainable aerospace solutions. This partnership with Rolls-Royce marks another step forward in India’s growing prominence in the global aerospace manufacturing landscape.
