Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all-new G 450d, marking the first time the iconic G-Class is available in diesel, petrol, and electric powertrains in the country. Priced from ₹2.90 crore (ex-showroom, India), the G 450d strengthens Mercedes-Benz’s top-end SUV lineup, combining off-road prowess with refined luxury and advanced technology.

Powered by a 3.0L inline six-cylinder diesel engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, the G 450d delivers 270 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque, with an additional 15 kW boost from the integrated starter generator. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.

The SUV features the latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system, augmented reality navigation, Burmester® 3D Surround Sound with Dolby Atmos, two-tone Nappa leather interiors, and MANUFAKTUR customisation options, offering nearly limitless personalization.

True to its off-road heritage, the G 450d retains its ladder-frame construction, three differential locks, and adaptive adjustable damping, ensuring superior control on and off the road. It boasts 100% gradeability, 241 mm ground clearance, and a 70 cm fording depth, reinforcing its iconic durability.

“The new G 450d underlines our commitment to offer diesel, petrol, and electric powertrains for the first time in India for the G-Class,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India. “It caters to sustained customer demand for a diesel variant while maintaining the G-Class’s cult status.”

In addition, Mercedes-Benz announced an exclusive luxury SUV drive experience — the ‘G-Tribe Escapade’, in collaboration with Cougar Motorsport. The program, inspired by the G-Class, will feature adventure drives from India to Bhutan (Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro) between November and December 2025, allowing select customers to explore the Himalayas behind the wheel of Mercedes-Benz SUVs, including the AMG G 63, G 580, and EQS SUV.

With only 50 exclusive units available in the first batch, the Mercedes-Benz G 450d represents a powerful fusion of tradition, innovation, and luxury — redefining the benchmark for high-end off-road vehicles in India.
