JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 7.90 million tonnes for Q2 FY26, marking a 17% year-on-year (YoY) increase and a 9% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rise.
The company’s Indian operations produced 7.66 million tonnes, up 16% YoY and 9% QoQ, with capacity utilisation at 92%. Meanwhile, JSW Steel USA – Ohio contributed 0.24 million tonnes, maintaining steady output from the previous quarter.
JSW Steel’s wholly-owned subsidiary, JVML, commissioned its second converter on 30th August 2025, making the overall Indian crude steel capacity of 34.2 MTPA fully operational. The integrated 5 MTPA operations at JVML have ramped up well, operating at 88% capacity utilisation in September 2025.
Towards the end of September, the company began a 150-day shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar to upgrade hot metal capacity from 3 MTPA to 4.5 MTPA, supporting future production growth.
For the first half of FY26, JSW Steel’s Indian operations produced 14.69 million tonnes, up 15% YoY, while JSW Steel USA – Ohio contributed 0.48 million tonnes, taking consolidated production to 15.16 million tonnes, a 16% increase from H1 FY25.
