TT Jagannathan, the visionary industrialist and Chairman Emeritus of TTK Group, passed away in Bengaluru, leaving behind a legacy that transformed Indian kitchens and household innovation. Widely regarded as “the cooker pioneer”, Jagannathan revolutionized the pressure cooker industry with the introduction of the ‘gasket release system’, a breakthrough that made Prestige a trusted and indispensable name in Indian homes.

An alumnus of IIT Chennai and a Ph.D. holder in Operations Research from Cornell University (USA), Jagannathan was known for his sharp business acumen combined with a deep passion for cooking. Over five decades, he led TTK Prestige through innovation and resilience, turning it from a struggling company into one of India’s most successful and debt-free consumer durable giants.

He also authored the acclaimed book, ‘Disrupt and Conquer: How TTK Prestige Became a Billion Dollar Company’, chronicling the company’s inspiring journey from near bankruptcy to industry leadership.
