Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad have officially appointed Sérgio Conceição as their new head coach on a contract running until 2027. The Portuguese tactician replaces Marcelo Gallardo, marking a new chapter for the Jeddah-based club as they aim to reclaim domestic and continental supremacy.

The deal, revealed by Fabrizio Romano days ago, has now been confirmed, with Conceição bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in European football. The 49-year-old manager enjoyed a highly successful spell with FC Porto, where he guided the team to multiple league titles and earned widespread respect for his tactical acumen, fiery passion, and ability to get the best out of his players.

Conceição will be joined at Al Ittihad by a trusted coaching staff, including João Costa, Siramana Dembélé, Fábio Moura, Diamantino Figueiredo, and Vedran Runje. In addition, performance analyst Eduardo Oliveira has also joined the setup, ensuring the new manager has a familiar and efficient support team around him.

The appointment underlines Al Ittihad’s ambitions to re-establish themselves as a powerhouse in Asian football.
