Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and current head coach Rahul Dravid, has been named captain of Karnataka for the upcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy, scheduled to be held in Dehradun from October 9 to 17.

The young wicketkeeper-batsman, who was Karnataka’s leading run-getter in the previous edition, will lead a 15-member squad as the state looks to make a strong impression in the inter-state U-19 tournament. Karnataka features in one of the five groups, each comprising six teams.

Anvay has steadily built his reputation in age-group cricket. In the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2023-24, he topped Karnataka’s batting charts with 357 runs in five matches at an average of 45, including four half-centuries.

Meanwhile, Karnataka has also announced its Ranji Trophy 2025-26 squad, marking the return of Karun Nair to the side after a stint with Vidarbha. Mayank Agarwal will lead the team, with Shreyas Gopal spearheading the spin attack and Vijaykumar Vyshak heading the pace department.
