Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has opened up about his ambition to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or, describing it as a “team trophy” that reflects collective success rather than just individual brilliance.
In an interview with The Guardian, quoted by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the England captain expressed his desire to lift the award but acknowledged the importance of team achievements in earning such recognition.
“I’d love to win the Ballon d’Or! Essentially it is a team trophy that the best individual from that team wins,” said Kane. “It’s going to be a Champions League winner or a World Cup winner… It would be almost the perfect season.”
Kane, who joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, has been in exceptional form since moving to Germany, consistently finding the back of the net and establishing himself as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards. However, he remains without a major team trophy, something he knows is crucial for any serious Ballon d’Or contender.
