Jindal Stainless, India’s largest stainless steel manufacturer, has taken a major step in infrastructure innovation by launching its first stainless steel fabrication unit in Washivali, Patalganga, Mumbai, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Jindal Stainless Steelway Limited (JSSL). The 4 lakh sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality, durable bridge components and other critical infrastructure elements.

The unit, inaugurated by Tarun Khulbe, CEO & CFO of Jindal Stainless, alongside senior company leaders, represents an initial investment of approximately ₹125 crore. By FY26-27, the facility aims to achieve an annual fabrication capacity of 18,000 tonnes, up from an estimated 4,000 tonnes in the current financial year, catering to India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure needs.

This strategic move positions Jindal Stainless not just as a leading stainless steel supplier, but also as a comprehensive fabrication solutions provider. The unit will manufacture essential bridge components including girders, arches, nuts and bolts, handles, and other structural parts, offering end-to-end solutions for infrastructure developers.

The facility will generate over 250 direct jobs and support more than 150 families indirectly, while also serving as a center for skill development, preparing India’s workforce for the infrastructure of tomorrow.

Stainless steel, unlike carbon steel, offers superior corrosion resistance and a lifespan exceeding 100 years, making it a safer, sustainable, and cost-effective choice for urban bridges and other critical structures. With this pioneering fabrication unit, Jindal Stainless strengthens its commitment to delivering high-quality, long-lasting, and sustainable infrastructure solutions across India.
