JMM demands 12 seats, to meet Tejashwi Yadav
Amid alliance talks, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson Manoj Pandey said the party is demanding 12 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections. He confirmed that two senior JMM leaders will soon meet the Leader of Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav to discuss seat allocation under the Mahagathbandhan alliance.
CEC clarifies on Aadhaar and voter list purification
Earlier in the day, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar addressed concerns around voter identification, noting that the Supreme Court has stated Aadhaar is not proof of citizenship or date of birth. He also mentioned that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive in Bihar led to the purification of the voters’ list after 22 years, ensuring greater transparency and accuracy in the electoral process.
