Ike Turner Jr., the son of music legends Tina Turner and Ike Turner Sr., has passed away at the age of 67. As reported by TMZ, he died on Saturday at a hospital in Los Angeles due to kidney failure, following a prolonged battle with severe heart issues. His health had been declining for some time, and he had suffered a stroke in early September.

Who was Ike Turner Jr?

As per reports, born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. was adopted by Tina Turner early in his life. Growing up amidst the whirlwind of his parents’ iconic music career, he developed a passion for music. He initially pursued drumming but later focused on keyboards under Tina Turner’s guidance. He later contributed significantly to Bolic Sound Studios, his father’s recording facility, and built a successful career as a sound engineer and musician. Notably, he won a Grammy Award in 2007 for Best Traditional Blues Album for his father’s Risin’ With The Blues.

Personal Life 

Despite his famous family, Ike Jr. largely stayed out of the public eye. He was one of four children connected to Tina and Ike’s legendary union. His cousin, Jacqueline Bullock, confirmed his passing and expressed her grief, describing Ike Jr. as more than a cousin—”a brother”—as they were raised together in the same household.

Ike Turner Sr. died in 2007, and Tina Turner passed away in 2023. His death marks the loss of another member of the Turner family, leaving fans and loved ones mourning.
