Saudi Pro League giants Al Ittihad have reached an agreement to appoint Sérgio Conceição as their new head coach, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed. The Portuguese tactician has verbally agreed to take charge, marking the beginning of a new era for the Jeddah-based club.

Conceição, who enjoyed success during his long stint at FC Porto, has reportedly said “yes” to Al Ittihad’s proposal, with only final details over the contract length left to be settled. The deal is expected to run for the next two years, with the experienced manager set to replace Laurent Blanc on the sidelines.

Known for his tactical discipline and aggressive style of play, Conceição built his reputation by winning multiple domestic titles with Porto, while also establishing the club as regular contenders in the UEFA Champions League. His managerial career has also seen him take charge of clubs such as Nantes and Braga, and he remains one of the most respected coaches in European football.
