RITES, the leading transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering company under the Ministry of Railways, has announced that it has received a work order from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The order is valued at ₹36.23 crore (excluding GST) and relates to key operations at DVC’s Mejia Thermal Power Station in West Bengal.

As per the company’s exchange filing under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, the scope of the contract covers the annual maintenance of railway siding tracks, operation and maintenance of signalling and telecommunication systems, along with the operation of 25KV OHE isolators and associated systems at the thermal power station.

The order, awarded by a domestic entity, will be executed within a period of 730 days from the commencement of work. RITES confirmed that the contract does not fall under related party transactions, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in Damodar Valley Corporation.

This development further strengthens RITES’ position in railway infrastructure management and maintenance services for the power sector. The contract also enhances the company’s order book, providing revenue visibility for the next two years.
