Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), one of India’s leading engineering and power equipment companies, has secured major EPC contracts from M.P. Power Generating Company Ltd. (MPPGCL) for two supercritical thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh.
According to official notifications received on 29th September 2025, BHEL will execute the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) packages for the 1×660 MW Amarkantak Unit 6 and 1×660 MW Satpura Unit 12 power plants. The scope of work includes the supply of critical equipment, civil works, erection, and commissioning of the plants.
The projects, awarded through an open tender, are domestic in nature and carry a substantial value ranging between Rs. 13,000 Crore and Rs. 15,000 Crore (excluding taxes and duties). Both plants are expected to be completed within 57 months from the date of the Notification of Award (NOA).
BHEL has confirmed that neither its promoters nor group companies have any interest in MPPGCL, ensuring that these orders are independent and do not qualify as related party transactions.
This landmark deal further strengthens BHEL’s position in the thermal power EPC segment and highlights the company’s continued leadership in delivering high-capacity power infrastructure across India.
