WATCH: “There has to be a difference between two sides” – Suryakumar Yadav slams Pakistan’s antics, praises India’s calmness

India captain Suryakumar Yadav has drawn a sharp line between his side’s composure and Pakistan’s repeated on-field provocations during the Asia Cup 2025. Speaking to RevSportz after India’s ninth Asia Cup triumph, Surya remarked, “There has to be a difference between two sides. They tried to poke, we stayed calm and focused.”

The Asia Cup saw several flashpoints, mostly sparked by Pakistani players. Haris Rauf mocked Indian batters and fans with politically charged gestures, including the infamous “airplane” taunt, and was fined for abusive language. Abrar Ahmed too was caught on camera making a mocking gesture towards Sanju Samson during the Final clash. Sahibzada Farhan even celebrated a fifty with a “gun” act, which drew an ICC reprimand.

India, meanwhile, chose silence over spectacle. Bumrah let the ball do the talking in the final — bowling Haris Rauf with his trademark yorker before cheekily mimicking the Pakistani pacer’s earlier celebratory gesture. But unlike their rivals, India’s celebrations remained grounded in performance.

The contrasting approaches were evident throughout the tournament. While Pakistan’s players often indulged in theatrics, India’s focus stayed on execution. Kuldeep Yadav’s record-breaking spell in the final, Tilak Varma’s match-winning 69*, and Bumrah’s precision under pressure highlighted the calm discipline Surya credited for India’s dominance.

By the end of the Asia Cup, India not only had the trophy in hand but also the moral high ground. Surya’s words underline the message: India let cricket speak, Pakistan chose gestures — and only one side walked away as champions.
