Barcelona’s wonderkid Lamine Yamal has once again been crowned the Best Young Talent in World Football, securing the Kopa Trophy for the second year in a row at the Ballon d’Or 2025 ceremony.

The 18-year-old forward had already claimed the award in 2024, and his dazzling performances last season ensured he retained the prestigious honor. Yamal’s creativity, composure, and match-winning displays made him one of Barcelona’s standout performers, cementing his status as the future of Spanish football.

At the same ceremony, Yamal narrowly missed out on the ultimate recognition, finishing 2nd in the Ballon d’Or rankings, just a few points behind his international teammate Ousmane Dembélé, who lifted the award.

Despite falling short of the top prize, Yamal’s back-to-back Kopa Trophy triumphs underline his rapid rise and consistency at the highest level.
