Locks & Architectural Solutions, a business of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has spotlighted sustainable design as the defining trend in urban architecture, based on insights from Season 3 of its flagship knowledge-sharing initiative, VC Live, hosted under the Godrej Value Co-Creators Club (GVCC).
The five-part series engaged architects, urban designers, and design enthusiasts, drawing strong participation and poll responses. Safety measures emerged as the most critical factor for improving urban livability, followed by pedestrian-friendly streets and efficient public transport. However, the strongest demand was for parks and green spaces, indicating a growing public call for ecological balance in cities.
Sustainability remained a recurring theme throughout the sessions. While 51% of participants felt that design approach has the greatest impact on sustainability—more than materials or energy efficiency—60% identified sustainable design as the single most important factor shaping the future of architecture. Green and open spaces (41%) and climate-friendly infrastructure ranked highest among priorities for future cities.
