
In a major boost to India’s shipbuilding sector, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) signed five strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at Bhavnagar’s ‘Samudra Se Samriddhi’ Mission, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 20, 2025. The initiative aligns with India’s vision to emerge among the world’s top five shipbuilding nations by 2047 under the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision.
Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director of GRSE, said, “GRSE is proud to contribute to India’s shipbuilding resurgence. These MoUs reinforce our role in building a collaborative ecosystem where shipyards, ports, operators, and infrastructure partners work together to create sustainable, globally competitive solutions.”

These agreements lay the groundwork for collaborative projects in multiple areas, including green shipbuilding, low-emission vessels, ship repair, and construction of sustainable tugs in line with GTTP specifications. Additionally, the partnerships will focus on port infrastructure development, jetty and berth construction, multimodal logistics, last-mile connectivity, and civil, rail, and ropeway infrastructure for ports and terminals.
