Aurobindo Pharma on Friday informed exchanges that a minor fire broke out at its Unit IV facility of APL Healthcare Limited, located in the Naidupeta SEZ, Andhra Pradesh, on September 18, 2025, at around 8:50 AM.

According to the company’s filing, the fire originated in the Granulation Area-10 due to a short circuit and spread to a panel, also causing partial damage to Granulation Area-8. Out of the unit’s 19 production lines, only two were affected, leading to an estimated production impact of about 3% of the unit’s monthly capacity for the next two weeks.

The incident was swiftly brought under control with the help of the in-house fire hydrant team and external fire tenders. Importantly, no injuries or casualties were reported.

Aurobindo Pharma added that refurbishment and restoration work has already begun, and the impacted areas are expected to resume operations in the coming weeks. The company emphasized that the event will not have any material financial or operational impact and assured that all safety and continuity measures have been implemented.
