Pakistan sealed their spot in the Super 4 of the Asia Cup 2025 with a 41-run win over the United Arab Emirates in Dubai on Wednesday. Despite the backdrop of speculation that the side might boycott the tournament, the men in green delivered on the field to secure qualification.

Batting first, Pakistan managed 146/9 in 20 overs, with late fireworks from Shaheen Afridi (29 off 14 balls) lifting the total. UAE’s Junaid Siddique starred with the ball, returning 4/18, the best-ever bowling figures against Pakistan in Asia Cup history.

In reply, UAE faltered under pressure, finishing at 105 all out in 17.4 overs. Pakistan’s bowlers held their nerve, with Haris Rauf picking two wickets and contributing to a sharp run-out that wrapped up the game.

The win not only books Pakistan’s place in the next round but also comes as a morale boost after their earlier struggles in the group stage.
