Blue Dart Aviation Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blue Dart Express Limited, has received a Show Cause Cum Demand Notice (SCN) from the Office of the Commissioner of GST and Central Excise on September 15, 2025. The notice pertains to alleged tax dues and contraventions under the CGST Act, 2017 and related provisions.
According to the filing, the authorities have raised a demand of ₹365.58 crore, citing GST wrongly paid under IGST instead of CGST and SGST between April 2021 and March 2023. Additionally, the notice alleges ineligible Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims amounting to ₹54.55 crore, along with ₹64.98 lakh linked to written-off materials not expunged from the company’s books.
The notice also seeks applicable interest and penalties under Sections 73, 122, and 125 of the CGST Act, 2017. Blue Dart Aviation has been directed to respond to the Additional/Joint Commissioner of GST and Central Excise, Chennai South Commissionerate, within 30 days of receipt of the notice.
The company said it is evaluating the matter and will submit its reply within the stipulated time. It added that no material impact on its financials or operations is expected from the development.
