Sterling Tools Limited, a leading player in India’s automotive components sector and the market leader in Motor Control Units, is making a significant move in the electric vehicle (EV) space. Through its subsidiary, Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Limited (SGEM), the company has forayed into manufacturing EV On-board Chargers and DC/DC converters.

SGEM has entered into Technology License and Supply agreements with Landworld Technology Co. Ltd., China. This collaboration will enable the local production of On-board Chargers, DC/DC converters, and Multi-Function Units (MFUs), which integrate On-board Chargers, DC/DC converters, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs). These components are crucial for accelerating the electrification of passenger and commercial vehicles in India.

The EV components will be manufactured at SGEM’s state-of-the-art EV campus in Faridabad. The partnership is projected to generate around ₹450 crore in business by FY2030, tapping into a market segment expected to grow to ₹3,000 crore.

By producing these components domestically, Sterling Gtake aims to promote import substitution, supporting India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and the Make in India initiative. This move will enable Indian companies and suppliers to access advanced EV technology locally, fostering a self-reliant ecosystem for the country’s auto industry.
