The upgraded Terminal 2 (T2) at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is set to become operational from October 26, 2025, coinciding with the start of the winter schedule.
GMR AERO-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), which manages the airport, announced that T2 has been completely reimagined with passenger-friendly facilities, including Self Baggage Drop (SBD) counters, six new passenger boarding bridges with autonomous docking technology, and modern skylight-based architecture.
From October 25–26, airlines such as Air India and IndiGo will operate 120 daily domestic flights from the upgraded terminal.

Self Baggage Drop: Passengers can tag and drop their luggage in minutes, reducing wait times.

The terminal has also undergone mechanical and electrical upgrades, including new HVAC systems for optimal air quality and advanced fire and safety systems for enhanced passenger security.
Additionally, a new high-resolution Flight Information Display System (FIDS) has been installed to provide real-time updates, while specialized signage will improve accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility.
With these upgrades, Terminal 2 is expected to significantly enhance the travel experience for millions of passengers, while ensuring seamless operations at India’s busiest airport.
