Pakistan’s batting woes deepened in the Asia Cup clash against India as Kuldeep Yadav picked up Hasan Nawaz’s wicket, reducing the side to 64/5 in 12.4 overs.
Just a delivery earlier, Hasan Nawaz got a lifeline when Kuldeep himself dropped a sharp return catch diving to his right. But the reprieve did not last long. On the very next ball, Nawaz mistimed his shot again, only for Axar Patel to make no mistake and complete the catch. Nawaz departed for 5 off 7 deliveries.
At this stage, Pakistan have lost half their side, with Sahibzada Farhan batting on 32 (36) as the lone resistance. India’s spinners, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, have tightened the screws after early strikes from Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah.
India now look firmly in control, with Pakistan struggling to rebuild their innings.
