Travel platform ixigo has announced a partnership with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to enable metro ticket bookings directly through the ixigo Trains app.
With this integration, passengers can now book QR-based Delhi Metro tickets using in-app payments, offering a seamless and time-saving experience. First-time users will also get 100% cashback up to ₹50 as ixigo money on tickets booked daily between 9–11 AM.
According to the company, this feature will allow users to plan and book end-to-end journeys across trains, buses, flights, hotels, and now metro services on a single platform. The collaboration aims to encourage commuters to adopt digital-first commuting habits while reducing queues at metro stations.
The Delhi Metro, which operates nearly 400 km of network across more than a dozen lines, is India’s largest and busiest metro system. In August 2025, it recorded its highest-ever single-day ridership of over 81 lakh passenger journeys.
ONDC officials highlighted that integrating metro ticketing into ixigo is more than a convenience feature—it represents a move toward building an interoperable mobility ecosystem. The tie-up aligns with the broader goal of ensuring that commuters have unified access to multiple modes of transport through a connected digital infrastructure.
Since its launch, ixigo Trains has added innovations like waitlist predictions, live train status updates with delay alerts, alternate train suggestions, AR-based coach position locators, and AI-powered support through its multilingual assistant TARA. With metro integration, the company has strengthened its position as a one-stop solution for daily and long-distance travel.
