Affle Ltd., a global leader in consumer intelligence and mobile advertising, has announced the grant of its latest patent in the United States, further strengthening its expanding technology IP portfolio. This marks the 16th patent for Affle, highlighting its commitment to building innovative, AI-powered advertising solutions.

The newly granted patent focuses on a “Method and System for Hardware and Software Based User Identification for Advertisement Fraud Detection.” This cutting-edge technology provides a smart framework to detect digital ad fraud and online commerce fraud by analyzing both hardware and software-level data. Unlike conventional methods that rely solely on software identifiers, Affle’s system leverages real-time data from device sensors, biometrics, connectivity signals, and other hardware touchpoints to distinguish genuine human actions from bot-driven or manipulated activity.

By creating unique device and user behavioral profiles, the system calculates probabilistic scores using cross-device mapping, digital fingerprinting, and pre-defined baselines. The real-time fraud detection engine combines supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms to adapt to evolving fraud patterns, even analyzing data from connected third-party devices like IoT gadgets, smart wearables, and connected TVs.

This technology allows advertisers to block fraudulent publishers or devices instantly, significantly reducing cost leakages and improving campaign efficiency across multiple devices.
