Andre Onana has been officially joined Trabzonspor from Manchester United on a loan deal. After poor performances at the start of the season, it was obvious that manager Ruben Amorim isn’t planning to play the goalkeeper soon and he kept on choosing the second goalkeeper over him. Andre Onana found this Trabzonspor offer as a chance to leave United to get regular game time and comeback stronger next season. There is no buy option included in the loan deal.
Andre Onana has officially completed a loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor from Manchester United. The Cameroonian goalkeeper endured a difficult start to the season at Old Trafford, struggling to find consistency between the posts.
New United manager Ruben Amorim made it clear that Onana was not in his immediate plans, regularly opting to start the second-choice goalkeeper ahead of him. With limited opportunities on the horizon, Onana saw Trabzonspor’s offer as the perfect chance to secure regular playing time and rebuild his confidence.
The loan deal does not include a buy option, meaning the 28-year-old is expected to return to Manchester United next summer. Both the player and the club hope that this spell in Turkey will help him regain form and come back stronger for the next campaign.
