Toyota Motor Corporation on Thursday announced a recall of about 591,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the United States due to a potential defect in the instrument panel display.

The company said the issue affects the 12.3-inch display, which may remain blank at startup, preventing drivers from viewing critical malfunction indicators. Toyota warned that operating a vehicle without access to such alerts could heighten the risk of accidents or injuries.

The recall impacts several models, including Toyota Venza, Crown, Crown Signia, RAV4, GR Corolla, 4Runner, Camry, Grand Highlander, Tacoma and Highlander. Among Lexus models, the LS, RX and TX are part of the recall.

Toyota confirmed that its dealers will inspect affected vehicles and either update the programming of the combination meter or replace it with an improved unit. Customers impacted by the recall will be notified by mid-November, the company added.
