PNC Infratech Limited has announced that its subsidiary Varanasi Kolkata Highway Package 6 Private Limited has received the Appointed Date for a major highway project under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

Scope: Construction of a 6-lane greenfield stretch of the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata Highway from Pachmon village to Anarbansalea village (km 116+000 to km 151+200).

Mode: Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).

Construction period: 730 days (two years) from the Appointed Date.

Operation period: 15 years post-construction.
Strategic importance
The project, part of India’s flagship Bharatmala Pariyojana, is expected to enhance connectivity across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Once completed, it will significantly reduce travel time and boost regional trade routes linking eastern and northern India.
PNC Infratech, which has built a strong portfolio of road and highway projects across the country, said the declaration of the appointed date allows for the formal commencement of construction activities on this stretch.
