The European Commission on Tuesday cleared DoorDash Inc.’s acquisition of Deliveroo plc in a deal valued at £2.9 billion. The transaction, first announced in May 2025, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
In its review, the Commission stated that the merger would not raise competition concerns, noting that “the companies are not active in the same or vertically related markets.”
The approval gives DoorDash a green light to expand its global presence while offering Deliveroo the financial backing and operational network of one of the largest food delivery firms in the world.
