Telecom and technology firm HFCL Ltd. has received a major boost as the Andhra Pradesh government issued orders allotting 1,000 acres of land to the company, according to official sources.
As part of the first phase, HFCL will get 329 acres at Madakasira in Sri Sathya Sai district, where it is expected to begin setting up its proposed manufacturing facilities. The allotment underscores Andhra Pradesh’s push to attract investments in high-tech and telecom infrastructure.
Earlier SIPB approval
The development comes on the heels of the 10th State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting held last Thursday, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which approved 30 projects with a combined investment of Rs 53,922 crore and the potential to create 83,437 jobs.
Among the key approvals were HFCL with Rs 1,197 crore, Apollo Tyres with Rs 1,100 crore, Dhirubhai Ambani Green Tech Park at Rs 1,843 crore, and Serentika Renewables of India at Rs 2,000 crore.
Significance
The SIPB clearances, coupled with the land allotment, signal Andhra Pradesh’s intent to fast-track large-scale industrial investments. For HFCL, this move will likely strengthen its plans in optical fiber, telecom, 5G equipment, and defense communication solutions, while also generating significant employment in the region.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details on investment timelines and project execution emerge.
