Ukraine is under a nationwide air alert after waves of Russian strike UAVs were launched late Saturday, with more than 60 drones reported moving across multiple fronts.
Three main concentrations
As per local reports, the drones are concentrated in three primary zones:
-
Kyiv reservoir – Zhytomyr region: More than 20 UAVs were tracked flying from the Chernihiv region over the Kyiv reservoir towards Zhytomyr.
-
Sumy region: Around 20 drones were reported over Sumy and adjacent settlements, coinciding with ongoing cross-border operations.
-
Kharkiv axis: About 15 UAVs passed near Balakliia, skirting Kharkiv city and its surrounding agglomeration.
Other regions affected
A smaller group of drones was also observed passing near Dnipro, while isolated UAVs were detected in additional regions. Air defense units remain engaged, with combat operations continuing through the night, according to local reports.
Escalating drone strikes
The latest attack underscores Russia’s continued reliance on UAV swarms to stretch Ukraine’s air defenses. With drones now moving simultaneously across multiple fronts, authorities have urged civilians to remain in shelters until the all-clear is given.
