Gigio Donnarumma who has recently joined Manchester City on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, has made a statement regarding the club. He was left out in PSG squad after the club wanted new keeper. The goalkeeper them decided to move to some other European place, and City were the one who approached him first.

Manchester City pulled off a dramatic deadline-day signing by securing the services of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper found himself sidelined at PSG after the French champions decided to pursue a new first-choice keeper. With limited prospects in Paris, Donnarumma sought a fresh challenge elsewhere in Europe, and City quickly emerged as the first club to make a move.

The Euro 2020 winner expressed his delight after sealing the switch to the Etihad Stadium. “Manchester City is the best club in the world. To be wanted so strongly by the best club in the world makes me proud, but also very emotional and happy,” Donnarumma said following his arrival.

Donnarumma will now compete for the No.1 spot under Pep Guardiola as City aim to defend their domestic crown and chase another Champions League triumph.
