Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India’s leading engineering and manufacturing enterprise in the power sector, has announced that it has accepted a Letter of Intent (LOI) from MB Power (Madhya Pradesh) Limited for the supply of critical power plant equipment.
The order is for the 1×800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Project in Madhya Pradesh, which will be based on supercritical technology, marking another milestone in BHEL’s contribution to India’s power generation capacity.
According to BHEL, the LOI was accepted on September 3, 2025, and a formal contract agreement will be finalized shortly. The company will supply Boiler, Turbine, Generator (BTG) sets, and associated auxiliaries including control and instrumentation systems. The boilers will be manufactured at BHEL’s Trichy plant, while the turbine and generator units will be produced at the company’s Haridwar facility.
The order value is estimated at ₹2,600 crore (excluding GST), with a supply completion schedule of 58 months.
Since MB Power is a domestic entity, the order further strengthens BHEL’s presence in the Indian power equipment market. The project does not involve any related party transactions, and BHEL clarified that its promoter group companies have no interest in MB Power.
