United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will join the high-profile meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed aboard Air Force One on Friday.

The summit, originally planned as a one-on-one discussion between the two leaders, will now take place in a “three-on-three” format, with Rubio and Witkoff joining Trump on the American side. The Russian delegation’s representatives for the revised format have not yet been disclosed.

The meeting is set for 11:00 am local time at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska — the first face-to-face encounter between Trump and Putin since 2019. It is expected to address security guarantees for Ukraine, arms control, and the overall trajectory of US-Russia relations.

Following the smaller format talks, broader negotiations between the American and Russian delegations are scheduled to take place, underscoring the summit’s significance in ongoing efforts to find a resolution to the Ukraine conflict.
