G R Infraprojects has emerged as the L-1 bidder for a major initiative to establish transmission systems for the evacuation of power from renewable energy projects in Madhya Pradesh. The company will oversee the development of critical infrastructure for the Rajgarh Special Economic Zone, covering 1,500 MW under Phase III, and the Neemuch SEZ, spanning 1,000 MW in Phase II. These projects have been awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding, highlighting the company’s strong technical and financial capabilities.
The projects include the creation of new substations, bus sections, and high-voltage transmission lines to support the seamless evacuation of renewable energy. At Handiya, G R Infraprojects will set up a 2×500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation along with 2×125 MVAr 420 kV bus reactors, with an annual transmission charge of Rs. 3,670.73 million and a 35-year operation and maintenance period under a BOOT model. The Neemuch substation will see the creation of a new 220 kV bus section and augmentation of transformation capacity through three additional 500 MVA, 400/220 kV transformers, along with construction of 220 kV line bays for renewable energy interconnection.
Further, the projects encompass extensive transmission network upgrades at Pachora and Rajgarh, including additional 220 kV bus sections, line bays, and bus reactors. The scope also covers the installation of 400 kV double-circuit lines with switchable 50 MVAr line reactors, ensuring reliable and efficient power flow across the network. The infrastructure will strengthen the grid and facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy from multiple sources to meet growing demand.
The e-reverse auction for these projects was conducted by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited on August 13, 2025.
