Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) reported a 4.1% year-on-year (YoY) decline in revenue from operations at Rs 3,908.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, compared to Rs 4,073.8 crore in the same period last year. On a sequential basis, revenue was down sharply from Rs 6,426.9 crore in Q4 FY25.
Net profit after tax stood at Rs 134.4 crore, down 40% from Rs 223.9 crore in Q1 FY25, and significantly lower than Rs 459.1 crore in the previous quarter. Total income during the quarter fell to Rs 4,136.9 crore from Rs 4,336.8 crore last year.
Total expenses decreased marginally to Rs 3,972.9 crore from Rs 4,036.5 crore in the year-ago quarter, driven by lower operating expenses at Rs 3,695.6 crore. Profit before exceptional items and tax came in at Rs 173.4 crore, compared to Rs 301.6 crore in Q1 FY25.
The company’s tax expenses were Rs 39 crore for the quarter, down from Rs 77.7 crore in the same period last year.
