RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received a major boost with the award of a significant government project from Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. The company confirmed the receipt of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the implementation of the Mukhyamantree Surakshit Sushaasit Shahar (Safe City) project, valued at Rs 2,16,81,59,197 (including taxes).
According to the regulatory filing made under SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements, the project is domestic in nature and is scheduled to be executed by August 4, 2030. The work order was officially received on August 4, 2025, at 7:42 PM.
The Safe City initiative aims to enhance urban safety and governance through digital infrastructure and surveillance systems. RailTel will be responsible for executing this large-scale project across various urban areas in Bihar.
The company clarified that there is no promoter or related party involvement in the awarding entity, ensuring the transaction remains fully independent and at arm’s length.
