HEG Limited’s wholly owned subsidiary, TACC Limited, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) to jointly develop sustainable, durable, and high-performance concrete using graphene-based additives.
This collaboration is a significant step toward creating next-generation, eco-friendly construction materials. Graphene — a single layer of carbon atoms in a hexagonal lattice — is renowned for its extraordinary strength, conductivity, and lightweight properties. By integrating graphene’s unique characteristics into concrete, the initiative aims to enhance its strength, durability, and overall performance while also contributing to reduced carbon emissions, aligning with India’s net-zero goals and climate commitments.
According to the statement, the partnership between TACC and NCB combines TACC’s expertise in synthetic graphite and graphene derivatives with NCB’s deep knowledge of cement and concrete technologies, fostering advancements in sustainable infrastructure.
About the companies:
-
TACC Limited, part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, is a key player in advanced materials, focusing on synthetic graphite and graphene applications across industries such as electronics, energy storage, coatings, composites, textiles, and construction.
