Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has announced the cancellation of a significant solar EPC contract that was part of a 125 MWAC (181.3 MWp DC) turnkey solar power project. The company, which was one of the consortium members awarded the contract, received the cancellation notice on July 19, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. IST.
The project, which included both engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work as well as operations and maintenance, was initially scheduled for completion within 18 months of contract signing. However, the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has terminated the project after the Government of Assam decided to withdraw the plan from the ADB (Asian Development Bank) funding framework.
This decision has led APDCL to declare that proceeding with the project is no longer feasible, resulting in a complete withdrawal of work awarded to the involved parties. While Waaree RTL has not disclosed the financial impact of this termination, the cancellation marks a notable shift for the company, which has been actively expanding its renewable energy footprint across India and international markets.
