The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in Mumbai received a bomb threat via email on Monday from an ID under the name “Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan,” warning that RDX-based IEDs had been planted and would detonate at 3 PM.
Following the threat, police and bomb disposal squads were immediately deployed, and a comprehensive search of the BSE premises was carried out. Officials confirmed that nothing suspicious was found during the operation.
An FIR has been registered at the MRA Marg Police Station, and authorities are investigating the origin of the email and tracking the sender.
The incident caused concern among employees and traders, but normal operations resumed shortly after the premises were declared safe.
