Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Synopsys, a pioneer in silicon-to-systems design solutions, to deliver next-gen automotive virtualization solutions. The agreement was formalized at SNUG India 2025 in Bengaluru.

This strategic collaboration aims to provide automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with pre-verified, integrated solutions that enable seamless deployment of virtual electronic control units (vECUs). These vECUs are vital for efficient software development and testing in today’s software-defined vehicles.

Tata Elxsi will bring its strong expertise in embedded systems and integration, while Synopsys contributes its industry-leading virtualization tools already adopted by over 50 global automotive companies. This partnership will help reduce development complexity, improve software quality, and minimize production risks.

Currently, both companies are working with global clients across various domains like powertrain, chassis, body control, gateways, and central compute. The solutions support early software validation, digital twin simulations, and reduce dependency on physical prototypes.

The collaboration also aims to accelerate the scaling and adoption of electronics digital twins for multi-ECU and application-specific systems, further strengthening the digital transformation of the automotive industry.
